Floating Health Center Assistant

Medical Billing Specialist
Locations Available: Indianapolis Full-time (40 hours/week)
General description: Planned Parenthood of Indiana is looking for client focused team members to provide billing services. This individual is responsible for preparing, examining and analyzing revenue cycle information that pertains to the agency’s medical Medicaid billing.  This includes all Medicaid plans and Medicare.  Compiles amounts owed to Planned Parenthood of Indiana by working with the various Medicaid payers, health centers and patients to ensure maximum benefits allowable for services rendered at our agency.  Processes paper and electronic medical claims accurately and in a timely fashion. Posts cash associated with those claims and researches and follows up on unpaid and/or partially paid claims.  Identifies new processes based on Medicaid bulletins and communicates and implements changes, as needed. Experience required. Position is benefits eligible.

Qualifications:
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and over 3 years of experience in coding or medical records using ICD and CPT coding systems.  Coding certification a plus.  Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field with use of independent judgment.  Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.

General description: Planned Parenthood of Indiana is looking for client focused team member to implementation and evaluation of patient care. Ensures the health, comfort and safety of patients by performing patient care duties, excluding physical examinations, within a health center setting as part of a health care team; also performs general office duties related to health center operations. New Media and Youth Specialist

evelop and implement a strategic plan to improve sexual health of Indiana youth and families through digital vehicles. This individual will evaluate, improve and maintain education website. Extend and build web audience by adapting interactive online education and training. Actively participate in a wide variety of social media activities such as Facebook and other social media platforms. Develop programming that is culturally diverse, interesting and relevant to youth -- including managing and growing scope of the Peer Education program. Present to small and large groups in schools and community groups, and provide trainings to youth development workers.

Qualifications:
Requires a bachelor's degree, two to four years experience in web design and management, audio and video production, recording, mixing, editing and production knowledge. Experience in community education is also required. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Ability to speak fluent Spanish is a plus.

Medical Billing and Collections Manager
Locations Available: Indianapolis, IN Full-time (40 hours/week)
General description: Planned Parenthood of Indiana is looking for a customer service focused professional to manage day-to-day operations and leadership within the billing and collections area of the Finance Department. Responsible for preparing, examining and analyzing revenue cycle information that pertains to PPIN’s medical billing, including insurance, Medicaid and patient billing and bad debt write offs.  Compiles amounts owed to PPIN by working with and acting as a liaison with outside collections agencies, health centers, patients, Medicaid and insurance companies to ensure maximum benefits allowable for services rendered at PPIN.  Provides guidance and organizes work flow in billing department to process paper and electronic medical claims accurately and in a timely fashion.  Performs research and identifies private insurance companies for PPIN to be recognized as in-network provider. Oversees collection processes and acts as liaison with external collections agency.  Issues patient statements and collects payments from those statements.

Qualifications: Associate’s degree in medical billing or related field, with 3+ years medical billing experience using ICD and CPT coding systems and 2+ years supervisory experience.  Bachelor’s degree is preferred.  Prior experience in Medicare rules and regulations, Medicaid, private health insurance, and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act required.  Certified medical coder a plus.  Experience with Excel, electronic practice management systems, electronic claims submission and electronic EOB posting required.  Experience with NextGen preferred.  Contact the Director of Human Resources by 2/29/2011 • careers@ppin.org • P.O. Public Policy Internships

Quick-thinking, diligent, passionate individuals needed to assist Advocacy & Public Policy staff during legislative session. Interns participate in policy research, legislative tracking, community/volunteer outreach, writing, mailings, data entry, event coordination and assistance with the production of newsletters . Web Intern

General description: This position will assist in the development and maintenance of agency websites. Essential duties include: work with IT staff to develop and maintain website functionality; work corroboratively with agency staff in designing and developing website content; communicate effectively with IT and other agency staff regarding status of tasks and projects; attend meetings with supervisor and other agency staff; manage and prioritize work flow effectively. Special Events Intern

Responsible for assisting in the planning and coordination of Planned Parenthood of Indiana's 2010 Gathering of Goddesses and Gods event to be held on Saturday, May 8, 2010. This intern will assist in all areas of event planning, including mailings, writing, database management, solicitations, auction and vendor coordination and various other logistics duties. This is a unique opportunity to gain real-world experience planning a major event for approximately 650 guests. General description: Monitor various pro-choice and anti-choice bills that have been introduced for the Indiana General Assembly, as well as other bills that enhance or endanger reproductive health. Wear your purple PPIN shirt proudly to show unison with other volunteers. Be a legislative presence for Planned Parenthood of Indiana by observing legislative sessions for certain bills. General description: Help support our health centers and patients, by providing transportation and various other functions to those in need. May transport patients from health center to home.
