Sexuality Content on the Internet
The Internet is an extremely useful tool when a person needs to research a topic of interest. Unfortunately, there’s a lot of inaccurate, biased or just plain wrong information on the Web about sexuality and sexual health.
Because of the wealth of information and resources on the Web, it’s important to be able to distinguish the helpful from the not so helpful.
When reviewing a website, look at the following things.
- Who is providing the information?
- Is the source an expert or authority on the subject?
- Does the source provide a balance viewpoint?
- Is the information current and up-to-date?
- Can you find two or more reliable sources that provide the same information?
There are many highly reputable sources of sexuality and sexual health information on the Web.
