DETAILS: Part of a national movement, the We Are Women Rally on April 28 is a protest against the legislative assaults on women that continue to spread throughout the nation, including in Indiana.
From Indiana Rep. Bob Morris attacking the Girl Scouts and Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell advocating for transvaginal probes, to bills that restrict birth control, enact "personhood" laws, and intrude into the relationship between a woman and her physician, it's clear that lawmakers – predominantly male – have gone too far in their efforts to restrict women's rights and choices. Add these legislative attacks to Rush Limbaugh characterizing women as "sluts" and "prostitutes," and the situation becomes even more alarming
Speakers and participants in the We Are Women Rally will be fighting back against these attacks and letting elected officials and candidates know that women are watching. And, as 51 percent of the population, women are poised and primed to make a difference this November.
