Patient information
Welcome to Planned Parenthood of Indiana! Here you'll find information on becoming a Planned Parenthood patient, and tips to make every visit easy, convenient and as beneficial to your reproductive health as possible.
Planned Parenthood of Indiana has been providing high-quality, affordable reproductive health care to women, men and teens for over 75 years. Our 35 health centers around the state offer each patient accurate information, expert care and respectful personal attention from our experienced medical staff. All health services are confidential.
The reason for your visit
When you call to make an appointment, one of the first questions you'll be asked is "What's the reason for your visit?" In other words, "Why do you need to see us?"
Different patients come to Planned Parenthood for different reasons, and we need to know what your reasons are in order to prepare our staff and offices for your visit. Here are some common reasons people have for coming to Planned Parenthood:
- "I need birth control."
- "I think I might be pregnant."
- "I'm afraid I have an STD."
- "It's time for my annual exam." A woman's annual exam includes a pelvic exam with Pap test and breast exam (for cancer screening); evaluation/ prescription of birth control, if requested; and any necessary testing for STDs. Remember, annual exams should be scheduled in the middle of your menstrual cycle (roughly two weeks after your last period).
Call for an appointment
There are two ways to call Planned Parenthood locations:
- You can search for the Indiana health center nearest you by typing your zip code into the "enter zip" field in the upper left corner of this page, or
- You can dial 1-800-230-PLAN and you’ll be automatically connected to the Planned Parenthood health center nearest you, no matter where you are in the United States.
Preparing for your visit
Once you've made your appointment, you can download forms here to save yourself time at the health center.
Another way you can prepare for your visit is to make a list of your questions and concerns. Our staff members are happy to answer all of your sexual health questions, but we can't answer if you don't ask. Writing them down can help you remember everything you wanted to ask while you're at the health center.

You can also ask questions about what to expect when you make your appointment. If you like, your clinician will also explain in detail what's happening as she examines you. And you can always submit sexual health questions to AskMe for honest, confidential answers.
Cost and services
The cost of your exam will vary depending on which services you need and which location you're visiting. Our different health centers receive different kinds of funds, which affect the costs of services at any given location. Your cost is also determined by your insurance, Medicaid status, and/or personal income. To best determine what the cost of your visit will be, contact your nearest health center by calling 1-800-230-PLAN.
Planned Parenthood of Indiana is dedicated to providing reproductive health care to all Hoosiers, regardless of income.
